Day by Day Itinerary

Welcome back to Gulmarg with WeSkiHimalayas! Upon arrival, check into your accommodation to rest and acclimatize to the altitude. Later in the day, you will meet your instructors to discuss your current riding level, review mountain safety, and set your progression goals for the week.
We kick off the week by getting you fitted with performance snowboarding gear designed for better edge hold and responsiveness. We will head to the Phase 1 slopes for a series of runs to assess your current technique. Instructors will focus on correcting your posture and ensuring your foundational linked turns are solid before we move to more challenging terrain.
Today we work on making your turns more fluid and efficient. You will learn how to use your knees and ankles more effectively to initiate turns, reducing the amount of upper body swing. We focus on weight distribution to ensure you are balanced over your board, allowing for smoother transitions between your heel and toe edges.
It is time to move from skidded turns to carving. You will learn how to engage the sidecut of your snowboard to create clean, sharp lines in the snow. We will focus on edge pressure and body positioning to help you maintain speed and control without washing out.
As your confidence builds, we move to steeper sections of Phase 1. You will learn how to adapt your turning radius and edge pressure to safely manage higher speeds on a steeper pitch. We will also introduce techniques for staying stable on firmer snow or ice.
A key intermediate skill is the ability to ride switch (with your opposite foot forward). We will spend time practicing basic maneuvers in switch to improve your overall board control and balance. We also begin focusing on terrain awareness, teaching you how to read the slope and plan your line several turns ahead.
Today we head higher up the mountain using the chair lift to access longer, more varied runs. You will practice applying your carving and steep terrain techniques to these new slopes. We will also focus on handling different snow textures and navigating through wider open areas.
For the final day, we put all your skills together for a day of mountain exploration. If your control is strong, we will tackle advanced intermediate routes and explore some of the accessible tree lines in Phase 1. It is a fantastic way to finish the week and experience the diversity of Gulmarg’s terrain.
